No matter from which direction you approach Schliersee, the powerful mountain scenery is omnipresent and offers countless opportunities for activities in our nature.

But the holiday region of Schliersee/Tegernsee has more to offer than just mountains and lakes. In addition to the diverse outdoor activities, our region offers enjoyment and relaxation in summer and winter, unforgettable family experiences, and first-class service.

It is also a place with centuries-old traditions and a vibrant culture. The focus is always on the people who shape the country, its unique culture, and hospitality.

Below we would like to give you a brief insight into the diverse leisure activities around our guesthouse.

Your hosts, Cornelia and Stefan Jobst

Alpine meadows, huts, mountain lakes, and magnificent views

With our diverse network of hiking trails, Schliersee seems tailor-made for hikers and mountaineers who want to spend a hiking vacation in the Bavarian Alps. This is perhaps the most direct way to experience our impressive nature. For those who walk a land, they also become a little bit a part of it.

The icing on the cake of a successful hiking vacation remains a sunrise hike: directly from our house up to the Brecherspitze with a panoramic view over five lakes in the region. When the first daylight makes the mountain peaks shine in golden light, one's heart truly opens up.

Wallberg and Obere Firstalm -
natural toboggan runs with the highest fun factor!
Rodeln Wallberg_edited.jpg

Whether you want to use Germany's longest natural toboggan run at Wallberg (6.5km) or our approximately 2.5 km long toboggan track to Firstalm, fun is guaranteed.

A visit is also worthwhile for non-tobogganers alone because of the magnificent view either at Wallberg over Lake Tegernsee and the excellent cuisine in the panoramic restaurant, or over Lake Spitzingsee in combination with the rustic Upper Firstalm.

Our insider tip: try night tobogganing with fresh energy under the moonlight.

Ready, set, go! Unforgettable! The tobogganing fun on the illuminated toboggan run to Upper Firstalm in Spitzingsee.

Wendelstein Cable Car and Cogwheel Train - A special mountain experience

Germany's oldest alpine railway takes you to one of the most beautiful viewing mountains in Germany.

For over 100 years, the cogwheel train in Brannenburg has been taking excursionists and hikers comfortably up to the Wendelstein. The 25-minute ride on the picturesque mountain route alone is an unforgettable experience, which can be enjoyed at 20 kilometers per hour! The route is 7.6 kilometers long.

The 48-ton train travels on a single track, passing through eight galleries, seven tunnels, and twelve bridges, covering a height difference of 1270 meters to reach the mountain station. On special occasions such as moonlit rides, the historic nostalgic trains from the founding era of 1910-1912 are used.

The summit path with its magnificent views is almost a "must," and interesting information about the mountain's geological features can be found along the way.

But the Wendelstein can also be explored from the inside! Four interactive stations guide visitors through Germany's highest show cave.

From Bayrischzell (Osterhofen), the Wendelstein is also accessible by cable car. A bus line connects the two valley stations.
